“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,” Ephesians 3:20
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20
We endeavor to make disciples by:
Edification through preaching and teaching the Word of God
Every Sunday morning, our church meets together for Sunday School classes for all ages. We have adult class offerings which study a particular book or subject from the Bible. Children learn in age appropriate classes geared just for them by our loving teachers. Our Pastor preaches expository messages from the Word of God in the morning and evening services. We encourage disciple-making with smaller group studies for men and women. From time to time we also have subject-specific Bible studies on Sunday evenings (or at other appropriate times). During these studies, students are encouraged to ask questions and dig deeper into the truths of the Bible. Past studies include: How to Study the Bible, The Book of Revelation, The book of Daniel. Usually once per year, Pastor Koehler conducts The Foundations: Basic Bible Doctrine class. We teach and preach from the King James Bible because we believe it is the preserved Word of God in the English language.
Evangelization through taking the Gospel to the World
Loudonville Baptist Temple not only invests in reaching our neighbors and friends with the Good News of Jesus Christ, but we also believe that Jesus commissioned us to reach the world with the Good News! Mark 16:15, “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” We support monthly about 48 mission works around the world through Faith Promise Mission Giving. We invite you to get involved in giving so we may assist in sending missionaries to those who have yet to hear the Gospel. Many of these missionaries and mission works are in creative access nations. If you would like more information about the current projects we support, please contact the church office or email pastor: pastor@loudonvillebaptist.org.
We also believe that making disciples involves more than simply leading people to Christ. We are thankful for every profession of faith in Him, but teaching and growing people to become disciple-makers is a long-term process. Paul admonished Timothy to teach “faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” 2 Tim. 2:2. Disciple-making at LBT involves classes, small groups, as well as “one-on-one” or “life-on-life” relationships that we develop, with the goal of others repeating this process into the life of others.
Youth Ministry Philosophy
Many churches today fall into the trap that youth ministry is all about entertaining kids. At LBT, we value our children and believe that during the formative years there is a great opportunity to shape the lives of young people that will have an eternal impact. We have several youth ministry opportunities that allow the children to learn the Word of God through Bible memorization, personal discipleship, peer to peer activities, and teaching from our youth leaders.
